The infected Gorillas (感染したゴリラ)– Level 3

Three western lowland gorillas at San Diego Zoo Safari Park tested positive for COVID-19. It was the world’s first news showed that great apes were infected with coronavirus. A man, who was infected with coronavirus and was asymptomatic, worked with the gorillas at the zoo. He however wore a mask and face shield while working with them. All the workers at the zoo took safety measures and wore face shields and masks. The gorillas had congestion and coughing. It was said that gorillas were probably infected from the asymptomatic zoo worker. The gorillas were given medicines and vitamins. Zookeeper decided to keep all seven gorillas together and monitor them closely. The lions and tigers in zoo in New York, which tested positive for COVID-19, were also said they were infected from asymptomatic zoo worker.
