Amongst the famous photographers, Joseph Nicephore was the first to take a photograph in 1827. He was born in France in 1765. His first photograph shows a view from a window of his house in Burgundy, France. Over a decade, he tried chemicals, materials and technics to advance the process. He positioned the camera near a window in his second-story workroom. After several days of exposure of sunlight, photo was yield and it showed the impression of the courtyard, buildings and trees outside. Permanent images were created by exposing chemicals on metal plates to light. This was called as heliography. Out of the sixteen photos that he had taken, three were kept in the museum for display. He is credited for taking the earliest permanent photograph.
