Let’s read aloud first. 最初に声を出して読んでみましょう。

People panicked when they saw a leopard on the roof of a house. A 12-hour hunt was conducted in the village in India to capture the wild leopard. Forest rangers tried to move the leopard away from the roof, but it pursued them on the roof of the house. They jumped off the roof to avoid the leopard’s attack. The leopard had strayed into the village and hid in several places as it was afraid of the people. The leopard was finally captured alive after about 12 hours. Three people, including a forest ranger, received minor injuries. The Indian leopard is widely distributed on the Indian subcontinent. It is listed as an endangered species because populations have declined due to habitat loss and poaching for the illegal trade of skins. The population of Indian leopards was estimated to be around 13,000 in 2014.
