The planet was discovered by a famous American astronomer, Clyde Tombaugh, in 1930. Tombaugh discovered a lot of asteroids within his 91 years life. At the time when Tombaugh discovered Pluto, people considered it was a planet however, it was reclassified in 2006 as a dwarf planet because it was too small in comparison with the other planets in our solar system. For decades, Pluto was a mystery. Pluto is 7.2 billion kilometers from the earth. NASA probe, New Horizons, launched in 2006 and conducted a flyby study of Pluto and its moons in 2015. It took good pictures of it. Pluto has its own features.
