The government of New Zealand banned tobacco for young people so that they do not smoke at all. All supermarkets and small businesses stopped selling tobaccos to young generation. Anyone born after 2008 will not be able to buy tobaccos in their life time. This was the second strongest tobacco law in the world. Doctors and other health experts in the country have welcomed the “world leading” reforms which will reduce access to tobacco and restrict nicotine. To ban tobacco was one of the toughest crackdowns on the tobacco industry. Especially the Maori population had a problem as they smoke a lot.
