The Bear of Ice Age (氷河期の熊)– Level 3

Let’s read aloud first. 最初に声を出して読んでみましょう。

Reindeer herders in Russia found a completely preserved remain of an Ice Age bear. This was in a permafrost where the soil was frozen. Slowly the ice had melted. Mammoths, rhinos, wolves and cave lions lived in the Ice Age. The first analysis of the bear shows that it lived 22,000 to 39,500 years ago. The organs of the bear were not damaged. The scientists were happy due to this. The animal’s teeth and nose were all intact. The bear is believed to be an ancient relative of brown bear live across Eurasia and North America today. Researchers said “the bear was the first and only finding of its kind. It is completely preserved. Previously, only skulls and bones were found. This finding is of great importance for the world.”
