Let’s read aloud first. 最初に声を出して読んでみましょう。

Sri Lankan elephants were killed by the farmers as they were eating the food like mangos or coconuts in their farms. To avoid it, they built electric fences that was harmful to both humans and elephants. The farmers were very angry. As the elephants were getting killed, some farmers told the authorities to start protecting the elephants from being harmed. Reduction of the natural habitat and forest was also the other reason for the death of the elephants. The number of elephants decreased from 14,000 to 6,000 in the 19th century. And now elephants are facing the risk of extinction. The elephants stopped coming close to the farms.
