Let’s read aloud first. 最初に声を出して読んでみましょう。

Baia, a town in Rome, was one of the most famous destination in Italy. Only the wealthy people and politicians lived here. But due to a volcanic eruption in Mediterranean Sea, the town was flooded and got submerged under the sea. The volcanic eruption was seen in the Italian Gulf of Pozzuoli.  The only animals seen here now are fishes and seahorses. More than 15,000 divers and snorkelers visit this place. They swim through the ancient streets, mosaics and statues. The archaeologists have kept back the shape of original town under water so that everyone can see the city as it was 2000 years ago. Divers and snorkelers found pieces of two statues in 1969. At that time, they had no idea that a whole town was under water.
