Giant Salamander’s bones were identified by paleontologists. This happened when they were excavating the bones that were buried in an old lake in southern Portugal. The length of it was as long as a small car. About 200 million years ago, these animals lived. The salamander was a dangerous predator. It ate a lot of fish. Most amphibians are distant relatives of today’s salamanders.  They lived even before the dinosaurs. The salamander had hundreds of a full of teeth and a flat head. These animals were found in lakes and rivers. They looked like crocodiles.
